This is VERY irritating. I install Halo... update... all is well. I can host and do what I please. But after awhile when I try to host my games stop showing up in the server list. People can join by direct IP but my game is never in the list.
I think that the problem is steming from the fact that I have 3 NICS in my computer. I'm not a big fan of routers so I have 2 computers connected to my machine and the connections are bridged using XP. The reason that I think that this is the problem is beacuse when I launch a game of Halo it shows my server IP as 192.xxx.xxx.xx which is ofcourse one of the computers on my lan. I've tried everything I can think of. I disabled all connections but my internet, I've reinstalled Halo, and I've cursed until my face got red. Please could someone help me?!?! Also, just curious if anyone has heard of Halo 2 for PC.

I had similar problems, but never got it figured out. Maybe try disabling firewalls if you have any? I know when I host a doom server my friend can't see my server until I disable my firewall.

The only firewall I have is that with XP... and I shut that nasty little thing off long ago ;-)
I've fixed the problem for now... I've eliminated one of my NIC's and went with a HUB for the other 2 computers. Everything is good for now. |
