Just bought my copy of Half-Life 2, and can't wait to install it.

The salesman said they've never had a game sell like it; as soon as they open a case, it sells out. I told him we've been waiting a long time for the sequel...

Time to play!!!!

I just picked up the special edition came with a MS Multimedia Keyboard. Can't wait to install it.... But I have to work right now so booo hhoooo 4 me

I've been hearing that some people are having trouble with the serial #. It keeps telling them that it's not a valid one. I don't know if its the retail or steam version, they don't specify.

Mr Fed Ex just came.....while I was on the phone with my Boss, told him on coming back to the office that HL2 just arrived and I am suddenly feeling lousy and must stop work. He laughed.

Now the box is sitting there begging me to open it. Of course I also need to think about upgrading my GeForce 3Ti300, if the darn Red Sox had performed as normal I'd have won the bet with my boss and I'd have a 9800Pro now, instead of him, grumble grumble

OMG 5.5 GB of hard drive space to install!

Angry Fire

So far I am unimpressed with the way Steam is working. It won't connect to its authentication server, which means I can't register, which means I can't play the game...

The problem is that their servers are so busy with new owners trying to register that it's moving at a crawl. Mine has been registering for over an hour now.

I wanna PLAY!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, it has finally arrived - perhaps the most anticipated game over two decades. Now, I have it preinstalled but locked on my computer through STEAM - I'm wondering what I can do with it should I purchase the key though. What I mean, is would I be able to access the First Player mode as well as the Multiplayer or would STEAM limit it strictly to Multiplayer? I'm asking this since my regular HL only has single player...

Thanks,
kram

I keep getting an error message when installing steam and its really annoying me.
I think their servers are overloaded. I knew I should have installed steam a few days ago, but i didn't.

I've been playing for the past 5hrs and it's fantastic!!!

The gameplay is amazing, it's not predictable like doom3, the environment is very dynamic, and the graphics are something to be duly noted.

The other amazing thing is that it actually doesn't take a whole lot to run it. I'm running it on a 9600 pro with all the setting cranked up and at 2x AA, and it's running smooth as silk.

Two thumbs up!!!

In response to Tigstah query about the Hl2 Collectors Edition that comes with a MS Multimedia Key Board.

I live in Toronto Canada and purchased HL2 CE from Best Buy.

BTW... Its taken 1 hour to install, this includes the unlocking of files..... I'm still waiting.

If it didn't come with a coupon, it probably wasn't part of the deal. Only certain manufactured 9600XT, 9800XT, among others, included the HL2 coupon.

I read this in another thread, can anyone confirm?

"Well just wanting to let you guys know that if you type in console THIRDPERSON you can see gordon! But he's silverish and has four or maybe 3 arms! Ahh!!
It's pretty cool."

A friend of mine just finished. It took him about 10hrs.

So, I guess the hype about it being a 40hr game wasn't quite accurate.

Everyone that I have heard is about 15hrs. 10 seems like he just ran through it. He should have taken his time and looked around.

Yeah, he just blazed through it. I'm taking my time
