Hi, I just got a hold of Colin McRae Rally 2005. I have just installed it, that was fine. Then a window asking for the Cd-key appears, that worked fine. But everytime I try to actually run the game, it goes through a process of checking the disk and then the screen goes blank as if the game is starting up, and suddenly my pc reboots (or I get a BSOD - memory dump error) and the windows "send error report" dialog appears when restarted. These are my specs:
Pentium 4 - 3.0Ghz - 800fsb, Hyper threading etc. 512MB DDR400 Ram 128 MB Radeon 9200 SE - newest drivers installed Direct X 9 Windows XP - i havent yet installed SP1 (could this be a problem?) Sound is onboard - AC97 Gigabyte motherboard - 81PE?? Lite-on DL DVD-RW. 80 GB HDD If there is anybody out there who has had the same problem, or knows a remedy, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Nickuss.. |

Thank you for that Alienware dude. I downloaded the patch and read the faq but nither fixed the problem. I did however keep looking around the CMR2005 site and discovered that it is "Not compatible with integrated audio/graphics systems.". Guess I will have to wait until I get an Audigy 2.
