Flight game recommendations

can anybody recommend me a good combat flight sim? ive seen the MS games, but they dont look very appealing. some good dogfighting games would be alot of fun. which ones are the good ones aside from MS?

The last one that I bought was MS Combat Simulator 3. i never played the campain, I liked the instant action. Pick you plane and the number of wingmen and pick the planes that the enemy has. The ground detail was great.

I know that you said that you were not interested in MS games but the game is a couple of years old so you should be able to pick it up cheap.

Have you tried Lock On: Modern Air Combat?. The game comes with a few missions and a mission builder, so you can get quite a bit out of it.

I agree Microsoft CFS3 is a great flight game, plus you can download loads of add-on planes for it from other websites. It makes for interesting dogfighting using a RAF Tornado to fly against older war planes, the only damn problem is once you see em you've passed em.

But seriously though, excellent level of graphics detail and realism is adjustable to make it a bit harder as you get used to it.
