Half Life 2 Install
i dont have internet access at home and was wondering if there is a patch or mod so that i can install my copy of half life 2 as i cant return it. so i would like it if i could install it or else ive wasted 100 bucks. Cheers

I don't understand the question. You are aloud to install it to another computer. Account can only be logged into once tho. Can't be logged into at 2 locations.

On the system requirements label it does say "internet connection required", there is quite a frustratingly huge install component that is internet based and you must have a steam account to play and run the game, (once installed you can play it offline though some have had problems getting this to even work)... I would be gob smacked if any patch will work but good luck with that.
In my opinion sadly, if you don't have internet on the PC you intend to play it from then you may have to either get connected or try to return the game. I have not heard of any fix that will get around this, it seems to be their new strategy to combat piracy. I hope I am wrong. I was not happy with the overkill measures they took on this game via the internet. I undertsand the reasons, but they could have surely done it better. |

i have now heard in other forums that there is a patch so u can install offline but i cant find it. if anyone does posting the link would be helpful.

Haven't heard of it. You can play in offline mode but not register/install in it.

I would look for it but I had to wait for 3/4 of an hour for the internet to activate my account and download/activate other files on my PC and stubbornly I don't believe (or may be want to!) it is there right now.
If there is a patch I am going to be near tears. If you could find it that would be great, people say lots of things in forums but what is actual fact is another issue. Got a link to this file? |
