Here it is, HL2 DM!

There have been posts about ppl starting HL2 DM the unofficial way but this will be the official way, straight from Valve. They said they had a surprise for us, let's hope this is it. View the name of the screenshot on the news page if the pic alone doesn't give it away.

Awhile ago Valve said that they had a surprise for the fans and would announce something soon, hence the news story hinting at what they are going to announce.

As far as the unofficial DM, ppl have been messing around with settings and have been able to start square looking levels with ppl and scenery but they have had no textures on any of the models. But that is neither here nor there, b/c the offical HL2 DM will be awesome. Anything with flying toilets is awesome!

I finished HL2 last night, way too short IMHO, but now I'm awaiting HL2DM

The thirdperson is messed up though

Cool, 'tis installed.

Edit - awesome multiplayer game, but the pings were horrible. Ranging from 80-1000.

Well I'm more than happy with Counter Strike: Source and would be happier if they released a patch to fix the bugs. But HL2DM is nice.. i think the original release was lacking that even though I prefer co-op modes more.

The fan boys on the Steam site (www.steampowered.com) are giving Valve a hard time saying that it sucks and blah blah blah. They're always giving Valve a hard time anyway (Valve could give them Super-man powers and they would still complain) so i can't take it into consideration, I'll just have to try it my self.

I don't think Half Life or any other 1st person shooter was intended for 3rd person perspective. So a model was probably not developed in the first place. I personally hate 3rd person games.... it's just another camrea angle to control and truning around is a pain when walls get in your way.

If I'm lucky someone might toss a copy of HL1 in it. Maybe I can bet on how long it is until I get arrested. I'm planning on getting Half Life 2 soon though, but I'm not sure if I will play DM.
