30k users banned from valve

Quote:
ShackNews has info on Valve banning another 30,000 users for various activities ranging from using stolen credit card numbers to camping spawn points. O.K. I made that part up about camping spawn points…but you should be banned for that.

Today Valve disabled more than 30,000 Steam accounts which had been used to try to illegally gain access to Valve games without a valid purchase. Valve takes such activities seriously and reserves the right to disable Steam accounts engaging in piracy, cheating, illegal activities, or any other activity in violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. The accounts that are disabled today will not be reactivated.

Also, the next time you log on to steam there is a new update available for Half Life 2 and CS:Source. The update is supposed to, among other things, address that damn sound stuttering problem.

I think Valve is doing a very good job at combating illegal game usage...they are vigelant. Also, hopefully this update on HL2 and CS:S will be fixed once and for all.

On a more random note, does anyone have a update on when DOD:Source is suppsoed to be released?

I bet they are being vigalent after the source code that got stolen right from under their noses during development. It's time for their revenge.

When I saw the your title, I thought that Valve banned anyone under 30K download speed from using the site's download purchases and updates... *shrug*

Definitely like the new avatar, FF. Has that classical moderator look to it.
