I BELIEVE that it will only play WMA and Dvds. The CD drive, mind you. There are several versions of the xbox, about 9. Depending on the version, yours will play burned Cds. With modding, the xbox will play just about everything. I dont really know what I can say about that subject, as it is kinda controversial. Check this site out for all of your modding information, and more on the xbox versions. www.xbox-scene.com
Without modding, you can store Mp3s, .movs, and mpegs, as well as jpgs. To do this, you need to buy the xbox music mixer, for about 20$, and download the program for the computer. With an ethernet cable, you can FTP to your xbox. The best answer to your question is to just try it, pop in an SVCD etc. but I am almost certain it will not work. I tried and MP3 disc, and got a "Disc not recognizable" error. NOTE: It is probable, if you live in England, that your xbox is PAL, unlike the NTSC versions in the USA and East Asia. This may change/disprove anything I have said above. Visit the xbox homepage, and search for 'music mixer' if you want to learn more about that. Hope Ive helped! -Corksil
