New PC wont play older game (SR2)

this is about SR2 (soul reaver 2). I got a new PC with the PCI express. Very fast!
I wanted to play SR2 again but with the much improved video.
Problem! It will not show on the monitor. The first cut scene plays out, but when it goes to Morbeus, it just shows a blank screen, with the game playing I can hear it going through the scene. I let the scene play out in the hopes that I just would miss some of the cut scenes, but that didn't work either.
I switched the monitor just to rule that out.
I changed some of the res settings, from 32 to 16 etc,,, but no go again.
I'd really like to play it again if someone has any help I'd appreciate it.

Intel D915GAGL MB
ATI Power Color X600 Pro.
P4.
thanks

Assuming WinXP, have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?

There is a known bug with the game's original version where it enables hardware T&L by default but doesn't do it right.

The first step is to patch the game, I think this fixes it but if it does not there is another way.

Go to Start>Run and type regedit.
Do a search (F3) for 'soul' and you should get to the section with game settings for soul reaver 2.
Look somewhere in there for a setting that looks something like 'hardware transform' I believe and edit the key to 0 from 1.

Note: Registry editing is a very powerful way to control what your system does but can screw things up broadway style if you're not careful cause changes are not easily reversible. But as long as you don't mess with vital windows components, usually the worst that would happen is you would have to reinstall the program you messed with.

It's worth trying cause I thought Soul Reaver 2 was a very cool game. Works much better with an analog joystick though, the only game I ever used mine for.
