My arms are too short to play HL2!

So is my ear phone leads. I find myself backing away from the keyboard till I can hardly reach it! Does anyone have some advice for me? I'm having a hard time. I have to setup to activate three machine guns, at which point the baddies start coming fast and hard. I can't seem to kill em fast enough and they get me every time. I can do anything I want till I set up the guns, so I've checked out everything but don't see any way out. Is the idea that I have to hold out till help arrives?

I beat that part by setting up the auto guns in a corner(looking at the gun cases go out to the right and then left) and stacking boxes and barrels for protection. You have to watch your back a bit because the bad guys can go thru the grid behind you. The bad guys dont start coming till you position the last gun so get everything else ready before you place that last autogun. Protect your guns from the bad guys getting to them. Hang in there took me a while to get them Good Luck!

Edit: Yes you have to just outlast them!

The enemy likes to throw grenades but not many, but an effective attack for them was to blindside my turrets and shotgun them or hit them with their weapon. What worked for me best was to place one turret at the edge of that pathway, and the other two right next to it facing into the path.

__________
JL
L
------------

What I tried to do was stick next to the J turret, preventing the enemy from getting too close. Generally they couldn't get close enough to the "L" turrets to be threatening, but every now and then I turned around and threw a grenade or two. Quicksave during the quiet times if you're in good shape. That way if something bad happens like a grenade blows your turrets to the floor, you can quickload and anticipate it. It's a cheap tactic, but this is such a frustrating attack. Another thing that you can do is hide in a room or similar bottle neck region with your turrets defending you and covering the entrance so that enemies can only approach from one direction.

Talking

Yeah Stuey, I had to go in the room with the light on. Set up barrels and boxes and the turrents inside the room. I had to keep setting them up but finally did it. Now I've killed the snipers and trying to get past the gate to get into that big building. Thanks for the help.

No problem. If you get stuck in any other places, post a mention. I'm just itching for an excuse for more gameplay.

That parts fun! Before you jump down throw everything out of the office over the railing, like the desk and filing cabnits. Facing the gun cases go out the right side and there is a room above you with a railing. Build some stairs out of the desk, boxes, and barrels. Lay out the gun turrets, where ever, then jump up there. I didn't lose any health playing that part. Well I did the first 50 times I played until I figured that out.

Boom

I've passed the part where I shut down the three generators and am now fighting in the bombed out buildings. Striders are hitting me as well as snipers from long distance. I keep getting killed trying to kill the striders using the rockets from the green box. I guess I'll get through it eventually. Each time I come to one of these really hard places I think the game is about over. That seems to be the way most of the games are, make it all but impossible to win the last fight, and then the credits run.

Well, I know I can't explain this well, but there is a crater which you must access through a small section of piping. To your right is a building with a couple of rocket rounds. To your left there is a small bunker type area with a few rocket rounds in there. Once you exhaust the rounds from that bunker, you should be able to then goto the ammo box and be able to kill the remaining strider(s) from there.

There are a few good games guides available on the net if you REALLY get stuck. By the way, there are some REALLY great parts coming up. When you get stuck, move slowly. Fire off a rocket round or two. If they hit, quick save. If you get shot, quickload. That's how I get through difficult scenarios. Progress a little, take cover for safety, save. Progess some more, save. Lose a lot of health, load previous save point. OMG how Halo needed a quicksave on legendary settings. If you ever have many hours to waste, give THAT a try.

Yeah Stuey I'm actually past the part you described, where I'm fighting the striders from the bunker. I'm now in the bombed out buildings, on the second floor next to a chest full of rockets which I keep using to try and kill striders. There are snipers in the distance on watch towers and they also are hitting me. I'll get it eventually. I use the "save often" method most of the time too.

I think I remember the part that you're talking about. I didn't really notice the snipers, but I saw several rebels on rooftops firing off into the distance. Best option is to cower in fear and take cover. Lol, that's the only thing that works in some games (play call of duty and you'll really see what I mean).

have fun!
