What are some of the TOP games for free off the internet?
I remember many moons ago (I'm probably older than most on here) I found "Wolfenstein" on the internet, and played that for months on end...but that was back in the days of using DOS on a daily basis. It's long been lost, but I thought by now, there must be free games available to the masses on the internet somewhere?
If so, for those that have tried them, which are the better ones. We often don't have the time to download...try...delete (over and over again) so I thought perhaps it might be prudent to ask some of you folks which ones would be worthwhile to try? Other than the games that come with WinXP, the only game on my computer at the moment (bought) is "Bejewelled II Deluxe"...to help pass the time on days that I have some. Thanks a bunch! Dale |

Classic Trilogy Games
Both Battle of Yavin and Battle of Endor are great and fun to play.. . though Battle of Endor is IMHO pretty hard. . I only beat it once. . . RJ

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but www.dosgames.com has some sweet vintage games. You might need a dos emulator to play some of them though.

America's Army -- what they suggested above -- is the best one that I can think of as well. The Army hired game designers to create a free computer game which would resemble actual Army tactics and squad based combat. Designed primarily as a recruitment tool, they wanted to make it worthwhile to download so it would keep the interest of today's targeted fast-paced tech savy young generation.
It is a full game which requires you to log into an account which authenticates itself online and saves all your personal information. As you pass certain training tests (shoot so many targets in so much time with so much ammo, etc), you're allowed to access certain servers for online play. (Once you get a certain rank you can play with people who possess the same rank or higher). It's fun and it's free and it looks pretty decent too, so I recommend going and downloading it from their website. www.americasarmy.com

www.addictinggames.com has a lot of good nline games.
I would also suggest downloading the Bridge Constuction Set Demo and Contest versions. Both free, and both extremly fun. I also believe you can now download the first GTA off Rockstar's site.

First one that came to me is Enemy Territory, which is a sequel so to speak of Wolfenstein. Granted it's multiplayer only (I believe) but fun nonetheless for a free game.

DOSGames.com is just a site with all legal content. It just features the demo and shareware versions of vintage games.
Enemy Territory America's Army Hidden & Dangerous 2 Deluxe
