graphic extensions

hi:

my jpeg files are defaulted to open:

view / files / jpeg I have defaulted it to internet explorer to open these files but it goes to the microsoft photoeditor to try,however I get an error message that states part of the components cannot be located and it will not open itself, however if I go into photoeditor and open from there it works. Is this just an reinstall of photoeditor to solve this problem and why does it not use explorer like it is directed.
