I want to create a server that all my friends can come into. The create a server is that for only LAN cause that doesnt work and the deicated server when people try to join it says failed to connect. thanks

You'll need to download the "Source Dedicated Server" through Steam - it's at the bottom of the games list and I believe comes with any Steam package.

yeah i got that and the techtv forumes gave me stuff that i have to do woth my router anyone know about that.thanks

I don't know...If you had a Linksys Router, there's an option DMZ Hosting that will allow one computer to be exposed to the internet. So this eliminates the need to forward all those ports,but of course its better to have some protection and close the option after you're done hosting. DMZ hosting located on the router's homepage.
