Can't log into Steam!
I am getting very frustrated. I haven't had any problems with Steam until today. I tried to log in and play Half Life 2 and it prompted me for my password. It had never done that before except the first time I logged in. When I try to log in it says "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers". The troubleshooting thing doesn't help much. It centers on connection/router problems which I know I don't have. The status page says it's all up and running. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I can't play a single player game because Steam won't log in.

Yep me too. I checked around in the steam forums, it seems that Steam was down for a while last night. Anyway, its all fixed now.

Ok, an added note here. Have not had trouble logging into Steam, but did copy Half-Life2 to my new build computer from the original 5 disc's.
I was expecting some trouble because had read some where you had to jump through hoops to get it to run again. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when all I had to do was log in and play off line/ w no problems at all. The only thing I noticed was there were no saved games, but had not gotten very far into the game anyway so that did not make a difference to me. Hope this info helps someone.....................Sterling
