is my soundcard going bad??

Hello All..

My soundcard or the game I am playing "Dawn of War" have a problem. Every now and then I hear these scrambled noises during gameplay. It only happens when I am playing the game, so I am thinking it could be a bug in the games audio software, or my soundcard...any ideas??

Thanks

Have you installed the most 'current' sound card drivers for your system? The game may need updating as well, if you already have not done so. What type of sound card are you using? I did not see it listed within your sig...

I haven't updated my sound card drivers since I got it, long time ago
I will have to do that. The game had a big patch that I have updated and installed, so I think I am current there, so it might be my soundcard...

Also my souncard is creative's soundblaster live, and it is 16-bit.

Thanks Acid-Klutch

Definitely get the latest drivers! If that doesn't fix it, submit the problem to Creative.

I am not sure if my soundcard is soundblaster live 5.1 or just soundblaster live. Reason is I am trying to download updated drivers. I checked my device properties and looked to see what version, but still I'm not sure. I know it is only 16-bit.

Thanks

Should be the same drivers, but choose the one that is just for the Soundblaster Live! card.
