A friend of mine is having a problem with his Battlefield games that is stumping us both. The games show up very dark on his computer, even with the monitor set as bright as it will go. It makes night-based games an impossibility.
Games such as Call Of Duty and Half Life 2 look fine; it's just BF1942 and its expansion packs and BF Vietnam. They have no video adjustments for brightness in the games themselves. Any ideas? |

Have you tried boosting the gamma, brightness and contras in the display settings?
right click on desktop > properties > "settings" tab > advanced > "color" tab

I told him to try it; we'll see what happens. Can't figure out why it only affects those games.

The problem has been rectified. His All-In-Wonder Radeon control panel has individual settings for desktop and 3D environments. The gamma and brightness settings simply needed to be adjusted for the 3D environment.
