S3 Savage4/ Diamond Stealth III s540 problems
Hey everyone,
Having some problems with me comp.... hoping that someone here can help me out. Abit KT7A-Raid Mobo AMD Duron @ 700 mhz Diamond Stealth III S540 (currently using S3's reference drivers) The first thing i should probably mention is an error in Directx 8.0a: AGP texturing test results: Failure at step 41 (creating agp surface) HRESULT = 0 x 8876017c (unknown error). My computer frequently reboots when exiting certain games like Team Fortress or Clive Barker. When i ran 3dmark2001, several of the tests (the dragon and the shootout) were not displaying properly. I'm stuck with this graphics card for now. I noticed on the windows update that it detects an S3 card - but i'm not sure if i should install the drivers it recommends or stick with the reference drivers: S3 Incorporated - Display 1020 KB/ Download Time: 3 min Diamond SpeedStar A200 (Savage4 Pro) - V. 5.12.01.8003-8.30.20 Any ideas? I haven't personally used this particular vid card, but it sounds like a driver issue. Can't hurt to try different drivers, try all that you can find

Cant help but also have problems.
I posted under Peripherals.
I bought a Savage4 32mb video card, installed latest drivers, Directx8, now my AOE2 game is so dark I cant play it. Tried everything I could thing of. Maybe PCMechanis can publish more info on Tweaking AGP ?? |
