Problem with Battlefield 1942
Hey,
I'm having a problem with Battlefield 1942. I used to play this game extensively with my old Geforce 4 ti 4800se and it would always work wonderfully. I would play DC 7 and also final when it first came out and they worked fine. For Christmas I bought a 6800 GT and in the beginning Battlefield worked fine with everything. Now my problem is that the computer skips a little while playing online - only a little with DC 7 and more so with DC Final -- not at all with regular battlefield though. I have a low ping when I play -- the same kind of ping and connection that I had when it played fine. I've reinstalled DC by redownloading it and it does run better, but still skips. DC Final I had burned on a cd so I just reinstalled it off the disk -- I dont think it could be corrupt since it runs. This began happening after I reformatted my pc a couple of months ago. This last week I have downloaded the latest nvidia graphics and reinstalled the latest mobo drivers -- I did all this at the same time that I reinstalled DC, so perhaps all this contributed to it running a little better. I dont know what to do, could it be that suddenly my psu isn't pumping enough power? I ran battlefield and ASUS probe and everything looked normal so I'm stumped. I'm going to try running Doom 3, but I dont believe it would give me an accurate test because it stutters a bit anyway on a good day. I'll continue testing games and post my results though. Thanks for any and all help, and I hope I can resolve this problem soon. Thanks, Tommy

I thought of that, but it's never been a problen in the past. I've always had it turned all the way up to its maximum quality and nothing ever went wrong before.

I apologize for continuing to bump this thread -- I know this is not looked kindly upon, but I am very frustrated with this dilemma and am hoping that somebody could possibly figure it out for me. Thanks.

Since you've admittedly started a new thread in another forum, I'm closing this one. The other thread seems to be getting better responses anyway.
