sony responds to the dead pixel problem on psp's

Quote:
Soon after the PSP launched in Japan last December, reports began to surface that some units' LCD screens suffered from pixels that were either permanently light or dark. Within 24 hours of the portable's North American launch, similar complaints began to reverberate around the Internet. The locus of the complaints was, ironically, the official PlayStation forums, which was temporarily down yesterday following heavy traffic.

I was one of the lucky ones that have no dead pixels. Id be mad as anything if i ended up paying 250 bucks for it and having dead pixels.

Seems reasonable to me... if they threw away every LCD screen that had a dead pixel they'd be wasting a lot of silicon, the manufacture of LCDs often leads to dead pixels.
I think it's a fair response, I feel that's how most warranties should read: use it (if possible) for a week or two to see if you're prepared to live with it, if not return it
