WoW patching
Today started with pure infuration because my patch update for my newly installed World of Warcraft is going at an unheard of 2-30 KBs.
I bought version 1.1.2.4115 and was wondering if anyone knows about patching with WoW, is it supposed to be crawling speeds or what? Maybe ill download from filefront but i think those are to be done in concession. |

Did you open up the specific ports that Blizzard said to? Their patching method is much like Bittorrent, it requires open ports to your local IP address for maximum throughput.

With Pc-cillin i was able to open the ports but it didn't solve the problem so i just uninstalled PC-Cillin after realizing that exiting the system kept several trace processes running. And yet still, nothing. I don't have windows firewall activated. Now I'm looking for my Netgear Cable modem CD maybe the ports are closed by default with some of those modems?

The last two patches downloaded quickly, without incident- and without changing any settings on my router (the download was around 300 kb/s. I don't know why your download would be so slow.

For me, it said 30kbs or so, but it downloaded in about 10-15 minutes, so it may just be displaying the speed wrong.
