Interesting... I wonder if it will affect prices, now that they're moving towards a Monopoly. It's not really a takeover at all, it's more a merger

EB is overpriced to the extreme. I dont see how they could raise their prices and still stay competitive.

Yep. 20 years ago I used to drive to the mall 30 miles away to look at Atari 800 games at EB. They will be missed

I've only bought one game from EB but I will miss it once it's gone cause it was in the mall and it gave me a place to hang out while the wife shopped.

EB has the used games though which Best Buy does not. We have a new Gamestop but I have not been inside it yet -- do they sell used games?

You got that right!
I got Halo2 almost for free at EB because I traded in a few of my old Xbox games that I never played. You can't do that at a big-box store. My bro and I went to the midnight madness to pick up our reserved copies and saw 2 grown men get in a fight over a video game. Now when's the last time you saw something like that at Best Buy?!

Hey by the way Yuanji, love the new avatar!

Uh...i was gonna apply for a job in the mall at both these stores. are the stores still guna stay, or will all the EB's turn into gamestop? I usually get my games at EB anyway. yuanji, it depends whose working there. alot of times EB asks for a license where i live to buy "M" games. im almost 17 now anyway, so it wont really affect me. if it is M, i just get my parents to come to the store with me, which can be a bit of a hassle sometimes....almost any store lets u buy R movies underage, why not M video games?

The problem with applying at these stores is that you almost never get a job since only around four people work at each place. Also I think you have to be 18 to work there as well, so you might have to wait awhile. I know I turned in an application at the mall and never heard anything back.

Good luck and hopefully my memory is only slipping about the age limit. If it is under 18 then turn in applications at both stores -- or just ask them.

Just applied. It's 16 at gamestop, 18 at EB. EB told me i could apply at the warehouse which is i guess where they have all their games/supplies.

Sounds good to me. How many people work at Gamestop -- the only one I've ever seen is new in town and I haven't been inside it yet. I'm taking that it's similar to EB.

well the one in the mall where i was--has about 2, maybe 3 people working at a time...i do have a pretty promising offer at staples, but i would have to work two days a weekend then pretty much full time in summer--i dont mind the summer part but i do usually do homework all day on sundays. I would like the job at staples -- id be assisting with "selling computers, laptops, PDAs, printers, networking, computer accessories"....hopefully i wont talk all the customers into building their own!
