Here is my dilemma, I know a lot of you guys have these cards. I basicly need a card that supports video input that I can use to make MPEGs out of to burn onto VCDs. I want to be able to convert my old VHS recordings to VCDs for playback on the DVD players. I also want something with good gaming performance so that's why I narrowed it down to these two cards. I think they'll both compliment my 1GHZ Athlon T-Bird system nicely. I dual boot with 2000 & 98SE BTW.
What are the main differences between these two cards? As I undesrtand it the Radeon All-In-Wonder 32mb less memory but has a TV tunner and a bunch of video editing software. The regular Radeon has 64mb DDR memory insted of 32mb but offers no TV tunner or software besides the drivers. Am I right? I don't care much for the 32 or 64mb memory deal, because I think for me both will do great in place of an old Voodoo3 2000AGP 16mb that I have right now. But I am worried about the no video editing software with Radeon card. So basicly I an just trying to figure out why the 32mb Radeon All-In-Wonder card costs way more then a 64mb Radeon with VIVA? Which would you suggest Thanks a lot, Alex Last edited by AlexK; 05-23-2001 at 03:41 PM. |

Either of them will probably work fine for you. I have the AIW Radeon and use it mostly for games, TV, Time shift, and VCR functions and find it to be an all round great card. I've played a little with video editing, but barely enough to rate myself as a novice at it.
