"Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them" -Franklin D. Roosevelt
I just beat Call of Duty again. I know COD is kind of old but I bought it when it first came out (beat it once) and then let my bro-in-law borrow it and he held onto it for like a year and I just finally got it back. So I eagerly put in back into my PC and played it all over again. That game ROCKS. It's sooo awesome. Do any of you guys play multiplayer online? We should get together and play! It would be the shizit. Anyway, I just killed a big ass bottle of wine and am kinda loaded and when I beat the game, I got all tearry-eyed and stuff. This game is great. I've gotta get the expansion pack(s). |

Play the expansion pack -- you'll find even more goodness.

I agree, that game is awesome. Haven't played of the expansion packs yet, though.

I bought COD like 2 weeks ago and beat it in under a week in greenhorn. Then I decided "hey that was pretty easy" so I went hardend veteren(sp) or whatever the tough setting is. This is so much more fun.

I think the best part of that game is being a Russian sniper because alot of games in the WWII section dont really touch on the Russian front, but they took alot from the movie Behind Enemy Gates so that was kinda weird.

Behind Enemy Lines was one of the worst movies I've ever seen -- if I'm thinking of the right one. Is it the movie where the airforce pilot gets shot down in enemy territory and has to find his way to a safe pickup area? In the meantime he gets tracked by a group of soldiers and has to lay under the bodies in a mass grave just so he won't be spotted. It's so lame, the Americans even track him with satellites yet they can't just go in and pick him up.
Oddly enough my friend was telling me about Enemy At the Gates -- they were showing it in her AP Euro class, and it hit me how similar it sounded to Call of Duty -- she told me about the Stalingrad part (unless the entire movie is Stalingrad, I don't know) and how the Russians came onto the shore in boats while getting strafed from above and shot with artillery from the town. That'll be the next movie I rent just to see how it relates. Last edited by tomster2300; 05-14-2005 at 09:42 AM. |

I must agree that COD is an excellent game and also i'm pleased with the fact that you're not restricted to playing as american/german (since im from the UK :) ). Online is a much better way to play as it makes it a lot more unpredictable. If anyone wants to come and try and shoot me a little then I play on either Gameservers.net TDM (05) server, or the Tataki TDM server (get the best pings there for the UK) my player name is

I love COD but for some reason I keep returning to MOH:AA for the good old deathmatch multiplayer. I have the COD expansion but for some reason I enjoy playing MOH online more.

I loved CoD, I thought it was brilliantly realistic, whilst I found MOH:AA entertaining but not as enthralling. And yeah, it does follow Enemy at the Gates pretty closely, but that movie was reasonably close to the reality when it came to the boat landings... that happened in real life, believe me, only the number was more like 1 in 5 at the beginning
