DVD play back on game stations?????
I am in need of a new progressive scan DVD player. I though I'd check to see if any game stations can put out the same quality of DVD play back as today’s DVD players. I have not bought a new game station in years however I would love to have the option of throwing in a game of golf or street racing game on my wide screen. I am not a huge gamer but do play games on my PC just to pass time. I would be playing games and DVD's on my Sony 50 inch wide screen XBR.
I have heard that the PS2 has progressive scan playback, is the quality going to be as good as a stand alone progressive player? Some say the XBOX does not have progressive scan playback while others say it does, any know for sure? If the DVD play is comparable between XBOX and PS2 which one is the over all best system (games, picture, networking, etc)? Thanks for any replies in advance ty Austin TX |

I have no personal experience with either console in progressive scan although i own both. I found these threads about progressive scan on the ps2 and xbox which may be helpful. http://www.highdefforum.com/archive/...hp/t-7368.html
http://www.highdefforum.com/archive/...hp/t-2990.html It seems xbox may be your best bet for a good progressive scan dvd player, although you will have to buy the dvd remote also. From what i can find the ps2 does not support progressive scan, but the new slim models might, not sure. Both systems have excellent golf and street racing games though. Tiger Woods golf for both systems is excellent. Midnight club 3:dub edition and need for speed underground 2 are excellent street racing games and i think are for both systems.
