question about console games

ok is there any product or anything to take games from nintendo or super nintendo and put them on a PC. I know there must be something you can do because people at www.consoleclassix.com did it. I took apart a nintendo to see what t has on the inside and all I found was a serial port that I already knew was there
_______
l___l___l thats what it looked like (if it would help and if someone can tell me how I can take a picture and put it on this thread)

You mean to make roms? You can download roms about anywhere, give it a google. Only legal roms of course Im not sure how they transfer them on to the pc though.

When I first saw that picture, Lamilia, I honestly thought you were being rude

And why not just look online for an emulator?? I have an N64 emulator on my computer that works fine

Yup just download an emulator and some roms. Its pretty simple. If your looking for nintendo games just google "nintendo roms". You'll find them.

The one I've used is called 1964 I think, and I can't remember where I got it from... it isn't on this computer, it's on my one at home. I think it was free

Lamilia- I use Project64 and it works very nicely, plenty of options as well.

For ROMS, the easiest place to get them is p2p, however for it to be legal you can only download ROMS of the games you personally own.

You will know, and so will your guilt.

You have to asign keys for the controller buttons, project64 offers the option to set up profiles for each game.

Unless of course you have a controller, that should work.

True, no one will know if you actually own the game or not. But the fact is that we can only give help for *legal* roms here, and those would be the games that own the original of.

The point is at PCMech we don't condone or assist in behaviour that is illegal. Therefore, we will only tell you how to do what is legal. If you choose to break the law, then don't mention it at the forums, and don't tell others on the forums how to do it.

I never planned on it just wondering how they enforce that law but I would never do anything illegal or tell anyone how to (psst if you get a paper clip and put it in the door knob then.......)

A good place to go to get ROMS would be Freeroms.com you can download most ROMS but there is an agreement that if you dont own the original cartridge you must delete it within 24 or 48 hours. Ive already downloade several but of course I still have the original cartridges just not the console
