Guild Wars
You all must get this game. It's a MMORPG, HOWEVER, it's free to play with no monthly subscription fees. Check it out..... Every magazine and website has given it 9 out of 10 stars or more, etc etc.

I got in the beta for that, I didint play much but it was ok. I liked the fact that you played in a party and didint need to share the map with tons of other people when doing a quest.

i've been playing it for a few weeks now, and i'm really enjoying it. it's my first mmo game. i really like that arena net seems to be taking any sort of exploit or imbalance seriously. fixes and improvements and features are added silently. the community seems pretty good. i've managed to get good groups everytime i've done a co-op mission, very little name calling, but you do have to keep an eye out for people that like to scam newbies. there seems to be a good number of people willing to help out. it's kinda neat to see people offering weapons to lower level players for dirt cheap. obviously not the best weapons in the game, but something to get them on their feet. graphics are really good too, and not too demanding for the latest hardware. i've got all the settings at max and it runs fine on my 9600xt.
edit: oh yeah, i run on cable connection, but i hear that it runs pretty well on dial up as well |

Just tested it out at my friends house...and im convinced. I was gunna buy it yesterday but the store already closed. Plus its been 2 weeks since ive had a graphics card!!!! Grrr! It would be back today if it were a business day. Newegg needs to speed up the RMA process!
O wel, it was painless enough. I've got my first two comp games since doom I and II, and these are halo and doom 3 (im a huge fan of both series, especially HALO) Anyway im gunna get GW too as a bunch of friends have it and i was amazed by the gameplay and graphics. Should be fun. EDIT: nocturnx, didn't kno u were in germany? Just talked to a lady yesterday at work who needed some documents emailed to her husband who's deployed there. How is it?

I'm really looking forwards to finding the time to play this... a lot of the guys at the uni play it over the LAN together, and they absolutely love it

Joining a guild is the best way to find someone to help with quests and such. The henchmen you can hire through the game are idiots. I got lucky and just happen to stumble upon a nice group of folks who allowed me into their guild.

Careful what guilds you join. Some are scamms to get mor gold and some are run by immature 15 yr olds that have no clue, and will run it into the ground.
