Xbox live

Hi all,
I hope posting this is not against the rules. I just bought an xbox specifically to play halo 2. i bought the system and the game used. My brother told me something about a two month trial for xbox live. I would really like to try it out before signing up for any type of agreement. I guess my question is how do i go about getting my 2month free trial, and is xbox live worth it for halo 2?

Hmm, well Halo 2 usually comes with a free two month trial of xbox live. Since u bought it used tho, some one probably used it already. Cheapest way i can think of is to buy an xbox live game. They pretty much all come with a free two month trial. Buy it new tho. Then you just set up an account from the xbox dashboard, you have to have a credit card number or debit card to set one up tho. Live for Halo 2 is amazing. It's really fun but can be frustrating some times. Just play it to have fun adn u will, best advice i can give u.

If youre looking for a good live game try chaos theory. I dont remember if mine came with a trial thing.

Xbox Live from a pc gamer's point of view isn't exactly amazing, but it's a good start. I had it for a year, and only played it a couple of times. When ESPN Football (the original) was no longer popular online (nobody at all was on) my live days were pretty much at an end. I did try it out for Halo 2 though and found it to be a decent replica of a typical pc online multiplayer, but unfortunately the consoles are hampered by their hardware constraints - creating smaller numbers of players and smaller levels.

Do what they said; get a free trial card, try it out, then go from there. I believe you might can even find a free trial card at Best Buy (maybe not now that I think about it, but who knows, call them up and check it out).

Good luck.

I enjoyed Halo2 online with xbox live... haven't been online for a while now, though I did buy the year package. Not sure how you can get a free online trial, but if you have friends who have bought online capable games, they probably have extra of the 2 month trial cards (especially if they already bought the live package, or have already done the trial thing once).
I forget how they transferred from the trial to the paid year subscription. Be careful and check that out, cause you don't want them to charge your creditcard if you decide you don't want to do the online thing, past your trial.
