San Andreas in my PC?

Well, I'm a great fan of GTA series, but after looking at the requirements for SA, I don't feel oh-so-confident about running it. Is my PC (see 1st PC in signature) going to work in high detail? Or perhaps lagging badly? The recommended is Geforce 6 something.....

SA for PC doesn't perform so well because of shoddy coding. you could try but with my setup, on 1280x1024 with high settings and bumpmapping, i usually get around 30-40FPS. It doesn't matter so much as it is not a FPS and is single player so i don't notice it as much but there are definately some slowdown. This is just to give you an idea of how well it should do.

I'm not so sure about it, but I think the graphics quality is almost comparable to Rockstar's Manhunt. That's my opinion - but I want to put only 800x600 resolution due to my monitor. Maybe in medium settings or medium-high I guess.... What do you think?

well i looked up and apparently people running a duron with a 9200SE can get around 30FPS average so it's definately playable. go for it! GTA:SA is a really fun game

i think your system's good to go. i can run GTA SA on my 1 ghz pentium III dell laptop on lowest settings-- no problems with the ATI mobile 9000. xp was clean installed about 3 months ago, have had ZERO crashes. just have the occasional cannot validate original disc message.

on my desk PC (p4 2.5ghz, 6800u agp) i have windows errors very often but i account for that because i haven't reinstalled XP on it since 2003.

Wao, sounds great. I've seen the min. requirements - 1GHz Pentium 3, 64MB Graphics accelerator, and of course, 256MB RAM. The recommended is something like Pentium 4 and Athlon XP though they didn't actually specify any details about that. And the RAM - 384MB(+). I gotta 512MB. Is that really enough for all that? Or perhaps need triple the amount of the original recommendations? Please advise....

Edit: Oh man, mine's a 9200SE. Is this going to hurt SA's performance? They said the recommended is Geforce 6 something.... Maybe I'll tune down the Anistropic filtering thingy....

GTA is a great game especially with all the settings pushed to the limit. Im not sure how great it would be on a system like that. I play mine on a 19 in LCD with Settings ALL HIGH and Highest filtering. Kicks the crap out of the console versions.

Also getting a joypad is great, improves the fun by 90 percent!!! I swear.

I have a Logitech Cordless rumble pad 2, very nice and performance gamepad.

The keyboard for this game sucks. It just doesnt feel natural. I think im getting the best of both worlds, a gamepad and better graphics

Wow while my heads been swollen i forgot about your problem

513 should be fine, it just might run slow on ares where there is alot of smoke (only 1 so its fine)

Your processor amounts to around 2.4 ghz if im right?

I have a 9600XT Radeon and that plays Farcry, SA, and HL2 Like a dream with settings pushed to the max. I dont think you could play with filtering but if you play on lcd then just set your resolution and you will be fine.

I play it just fine on my 2500+ 512MB PC2700 and a 9600Pro. My settings are on medium. You might think about upgrading your video card a bit, but you should be okay with the 9200SE for now.
