Battlefield 2 Connection Problem
I downloaded the Battlefield 2 Demo and I've been trying to play it smoothly online with no success. Whenever I join the game everything is fine and seems to go smoothly (tells me I have a latency in the 50s) but as soon as I start moving and try get into a vehicle or if there's more than one person on the screen (so pretty much all the time) a message comes up saying something like "You are having a problem with your connection".
Everything becomes jumpy and I start moving sporadically and my latency goes up way past 800. I'm on 64k ISDN, and I never have problems playing CS:S online, but this is unreal. I try asking other people on the server whether they're having the same problem, but no, I'm all alone apparently, even though I see people with constant 200 latencies, which is 56k level. I can't play it online so now I refuse to buy the full game because there is really no point in playing offline. Please help me! Aren't there any rates or something you can adjust like in CS:S? |

I would lower your video settings since the game is very demanding (I have to have 2 gigs to run everything on high). Also, make sure you are not in any ranked servers. Lately, they have been having trouble processing the data from the ranked servers and is causing lag.

Yes, the game is very demanding. Try lowering everything like Turbo said. What're you specs?

OK I have really low specs. I have a P4 2.4GHz 800MHz FSB, 512MB DDR333 RAM and an FX5200. I can only run the game smoothly at 800x600 with every setting on low. The server I was trying to play on is unranked, the only other local server here is ranked, so it's the only server I can play on apart from international ones, which give me pings that are too high to start with.
Is my computer very much outdated? |

Your pc is kind of low for Battlefield 2. Again, it puts an incredible tax on an system.
