Lightbulb Looking for a new game to get...

I've got bored of all the games i have and im looking into buying a new game. I want a game like shinobi for PS2 and curious if such a game exsits on the PC platform. Also im looking for a FPS game that is like battlefield 2 but more or less simplier... single player idea... kinda like farcry. so like nonfuturistic weaps...

ive played almost every single star wars game or i own it on the PC so yea... all i got to look forward to is Empire at War.

basicly looking for a sword game... and also a FPS game that is really about action... kinda like Halo but time setting of about now.

Current games that i either own or played.

Battlefield 2
KotOR 1 and 2
Xwing... all
XIII
Warhammer 40k DoW
Dark Forces... all... up to jedi academy
Battlefront
America's Army
Half-Life 2
Area 51
Rise of Nations, expansion
Sims... all expansions
bejeweled 2... lol
republic commando
far cry
need for speed 2 underground
doom3
splinter cell... all
rainbow six... all
ghost recon... blah

a few others but i cant remember

Wouldn't that be Battlefield 2? Lol. The new F.E.A.R is looking kind of neat, and it's supposed to be coming out this fall. Think about getting Call of Duty 2 this fall as well, though it's not this time period. Good luck.

EDIT: I found this when reading about F.E.A.R. It looks kind of unique.

BTW, I can't wait for Empire at War -- I hope it turns out well.

I really liked Prince of Persia. Dunno what the second one is like, but I'm going to grab it up soon as well.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and the Spearhead expansion have Halo like multiplayer. I still play them. Call of Duty also has great multiplayer. They both have great single player campaigns as well. They are, however, set in World War II.

I really like Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising. It is modern combat and similar to the Battlefield games but I like JointOps a lot better than Battlefield. JointOps is a really fun game. There are huge maps (no boundaries at all) and the servers can hold up to 150 people each.

I forgot about Call of Duty (and I just beat United Offensive yesterday ). Both COD and its expansion (COD:UO) are great games.

Hi Ho, how can there be no boundaries on a multiplayer map?

I don't know how they do it but you can literally keep going forever. Of course there is no point in doing so because there are no other people away from the bases.

Last night I read a review of Rome: Total War and it looks to be really fun. It's not a fps, but it still might spark your interest. Good luck.

I liked the first Prince of Persia for it's good control and sword-play. You also might check out God of War (?), but I dunno if that's PC or not. I played it on XBox or something, and it was pretty awesome.

Ok. This one is really old, like from 2000 or something...
But my favorite sword game ever was Blade of Darkness.
Really fun combat, but not much else. Definitely worth a $5 Ebay purchase.
Check the review at IGN. (remember, this is 4 years ago.)

Also, Die By The Sword (relatively old 3D game) is good. It looks similar to Blade of Darkness.

I'd suggest getting rome total war. I love that game and if you go to the rome total realism website download their mod of the game and you won't be able to stop playing it. But that's just my opinion

I know it's not a "sword" game, but I've heard good things about Pariah. In fact, I think that may be the next game I get.

That's some classic stuff, Nuke. I think I remember a Prince of Persia game on the old C64...

The latest versions are Prince of Persia - Sands of Time and Warrior Within.

I've been playing PoP Warrior Within this week. I could recommend that one.

Demon Stone was pretty good, although a little short. Felt like one of those arcade games like Golden Axe.

Check it out if you want sword swingin' action.

i hated that game... beautifully designed, really good visual but the controls are horrible... im much too much a halo player and i use strafe alot, holding down a i think the C key for me and moving the mouse side to side (no up or down i think) is horrible, i use side to side too much. so yeah thats the only thing i can complain... oh and the weap choice was too few other then that its a good game, the strafe part just dropped it down too much, i got the demo for both muti and single.
