Angry Fire BF2 will not install

It asks for the #3 disc and then it just sits there. The CDROM is running like hell and the harddrive light is on. I let it sit there for over a half an hour. The CDROM got damn hot. I tried a different CDROM and it did the same thing. Does anyone have any ideas?

TIA

Take it back and get a new one.

I actually know what you're talking about. I just reinstalled the game an hour ago (I just now read about EA recalling the patch) and it kind of hung on the 3rd disk. I thought it was frozen, so in frustration I hit the top of my case really hard (where the cd drive is) and it worked. This probably isn't the solution, but it made me feel better at least. It did this when it was installing the objects I noticed.

Honestly Roreydo, I'm beginning to think this game should have been delayed so that its bugs could have been fixed. It has way too many bugs to even be considered playable. It's fine once you actually get into a server and everything calms down (when the map textures finally load -- they load section by section instead of all at once, so you have to actually go to that part of the map before it loads, thus causing stuttering). But from logging in to trying to browse the server list, the game will either freeze momentarily (or up to a minute) or crash back to Windows. The patch fixed this problem thank goodness, but it also had many issues of its own, including a memory leak which caused more damage than good. A new patch (this one made by DICE) is on its way and should help a lot -- either that or they're going to lose of lot of consumer based support. This game should have been put through more extensive testing before being released.

It's hard to screw up the main menu in my opinion, especially the multiplayer server list screen. How hard is it to miss something like clicking on a server and having your computer freeze for minutes on end...then having your game crash? EA has definately dropped the ball on this one.
