The ONLY good fighter sim games I've played are the Xwing and Tie Fighter Star Wars games.
Stay away from Jetfighter 5, it looks good, but sucks the big one. Sadly, it has died off - and its my favorite. Maybe check out Battlefield 2 and try your luck with the fighters on there - I love it, but its also other stuff, not primarily fighter sim.

Lock-On: Modern Air Combat was recommended in another thread. I don't know of many others.

The Star Wars games aren't really fighter sims as such, more flying games. They're a lot of fun though, I really enjoyed them on the Gamecube. Search the forums, this question comes up periodically more than any other game genre

well i think some one asked for game recommendations awhile back...
Falcon 4.0 Crimson Skies Combat Flight Simlulator 3 those were the ones i suggested for flight sims... http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=136946 thats the post... bf2 has really good controls, better then dc for bf1942, helicopters are wayy easier to control now.

I think many people have become bored with flying games. I know I have. You can only do so much.
