Seeking Advice on a Motherboard
I'm looking for first hand advice on a rock solid motherboard to run a Voodoo5 Video Card. I want to use a P3-1ghz processor, PC133 Memory, ATA 100 and on-board raid if possible (but not essential). I'm looking for advice from someone who has a Voodoo 5, as this is the Video card of choice for this machine. I know 3dfx is no longer in business, but I want to run Glide. I alsohave a Radeon 64 card in my AMD 1.33ghz but miss some of the great 3dfx graphics. Of great importance is a Mobo that will willingly accept the Voodoo5.
Thanks, |

It doesn't have RAID, but the ASUS CUSL2-C will work fine.

Sounds like a fellow UT'er
.Voodoo5's are about as compatible as they come...for now at least, until the age of the drivers becomes an issue. They draw their own power from a power supply lead so there's no worry about how much voltage the AGP slot provides, it'll compensate if it needs more. The drivers in all OS's work great, I've had no stability or speed issues in any game with mine, running Win2k. It fits in a standard AGP slot, but the Voodoo5 is very long, make sure you have ample room in your case for it (no mini-towers!). Xayd |
