What is AGP Fast Write?

Hey,

I'm yet again on the quest to improve BF2 and read somewhere that turning off fast write would help increase performance. What is fast write and is this true? The guy who said this has a 6800 GT as well so I thought perhaps this may apply to me. By default it is enabled in my bios, AGP 8x is by it.

Thanks.

Not sure which is better for your situation but this may help you understand the functioning better.

i'm not sure but I think it lets the processor talk directly to the vid card instead of through the PCI bus.

Thanks guys. I disabled it just for kicks and giggles and ran BF2 and began getting 90 fps which is incredible (for me). I swear something still must be wrong with BF2 because for the first 15 min. I would stay within 60-90 fps, then when I died once and repawned I was cruising along at 40 again. This is extremely frustrating. Could this mean that there is still a memory leak in the game that the 1.02 patch didn't pick up?

possibly, the only way to actually try this theory is... well have a bf2 that hasnt been updated and compare it to one that is. perhaps its another leak of some sort.
