Dungeon Siege(Whaddya mean"actionRPG?")

Read a preview of Dungeon Seige 2, looks interesting, maybe. What is an action rpg? I've only played Baldurs gate, Morrowind and Neverwinter Nights. Does an action RPG use a gamepad or a mouse like an action game or FPS? In Neverwinter, you just click on an enemy once and watch your little dude or dudette hack away. How is Dungeon Seige any different?

Diablo and Diablo II are also in the action-rpg genre. In those, you had to click for each attack, or maybe hold down the mouse button. Lots moving and frantic clicking, basically.

Generally speaking I think you can also expect less in the way of plot and character development in an "action" RPG than in traditional ones.

Do you move your character with a point and click cursor or with the WASD keys?

Either way. Action RPG's are games where the combat (or other aspects) are more in-depth and controlable. The opposite of an Action-RPG is like Final Fantasy, where combat is turn based.
