HOrrible score on 3DMARK05?
I dont get it. I just built my system. Its runs BF2 at everything on High except textures, its runs hl2 completely maxed out at 1280x1024, doom3 on high, far cry, etc. All very smooth and extremely playable.
Then I download 3dmark05 and I get a score of 2174. All the movies they showed were extremely choppy. I was getting from rates between 1and3???? GT1- 6.9fps GT2- 6.6fps GT3- 14.5fps cpu test1-1.3fps cpu test2-1.6 on the steam video stress test i averaged 101fps with a max of like 210 and low of 45. W What the heck is going on???? Prescott P4 3.0e Raptor 10krpm HD 6600GT 2gig corsair dual channel p.s. this was on the free version of 3dmark05. Last edited by Mag00n; 08-11-2005 at 11:59 AM. |

Chances are it's just a glitch with 3dMark.

That score is about right with a 6600GT. As far as the low frame rates in 3dMark05, I get that at certain points with a 6800GT too. That's exactly what it's for, it stresses your video card. 3dMark03 ran the same way on systems a couple of years ago, as did 3dMark01 before that.
If you want something that will run pretty, try 3dMark01, 3dMark03, or Aquamark3. You said it runs your games fine, and that's all that really matters right?

^^^ you are right, i was just hoping my new pc would stack up a bit higher. I think i may look into a 256mb vid card. But yes, i am happy with how it plays games.
