Been jolly busy, Pam. And I didn't have a computer for the whole last week. I moved and this place was so dirty that I've been scrubbing, washing, dusting, disinfecting, and then again scrubbing, washing, dusting, and disinfecting some more. The previous tenants were big time smokers and alkies and they lived here for seven years, so you can imagine how the place smells even after the landlord painted it (lousy job, btw) and cleaned it (ya, rite). As a matter of fact I'll have to pack my computer again tomorrow as the carpet cleaners are coming wednesday and they need the carpeted areas bare. Helluva week. And I still have to go to work during the day, and when I come it's dinner-making time, and then cleaning time, so I haven't had much time to spend at the puter even these last three days that I've had it again.
Ahh, the joys of appartment living. |

Ya, had I known the appartment was gonna be in such condition I woulda done that right away. Thing is, the previous tenants were required by the contract to do that, hire a professional cleaner to wash the rugs. I dunno if they did it but my take is they didn't. The landlord "cleaned and painted the place" so I don't feel like they will want to pay for the cleaning of the rugs I'm gonna do. And since I just moved I don't wanna start arguing with the landlord. So, what the hey, I'll do it myself.
I knew when I moved that I was gonna have to do some cleaning, and I was prepared to do some serious cleaning, but this insane amount of cleaning is just plain ridiculous! Ah, well, I'll live I guess.

Perhaps you should jump up and down a little bit, or the landlord will think you're a walkover. Perhaps ask them to pay half for the cleaning services
