Nintendo
why does everyone stale Nintendo before their new consoles are even released. who will be buting a revolution. I know i will. Also why does everyone hype sony's consoles so much. You cant tell a good console just from a few rubbish screne shots. The ps3 is just another waste of time rip of made by ****** sony.

I like Playstation because their library of games is incredibly large, larger than x-box and nintendo.

Yes, I think sony does have the largest game library ever in this world, since its first debutant. Up until now I'm still rely on my pc for gaming, but when ps3 comes out I'll definitely consider it to stand beside my pc. What's a console without variety of games? It's a dead box...

I heard (maybe at IGN's reviews, if I can remember...)that ps3's gpu is stronger than 2 Gef 6800Ultras. I know that everything might be bulked up for marketing purposes, but if it's true, even it's power only equal to 1.5x or even 1x 6800ultra, it's still a very good console. What makes it so? First: its huge game library; and second, every game for consoles are highly optimized for its best performance and quality. Remember how sony made the first Gran Turismo for psx? The best ever in that age, with a hardware so low in power. So, it will be many great games with great visuals

Because Nintendo has a reputation of not delvering to the markets many would like them to, they deal more in the childrens gaming, ( I still love the games though

That is because they mainly aim at the childrens market. If they wanted to sell more adult games then they wood. So really if you want more adult games dont buy nitendo, so now there is no excuse for people to walk round town and say Nintendo are rubbish. Some people like the more childish games. It makes a change from all the war & racing games. All new games seem to be war, rpg or racing. One work 'lame'

Hmmm... I just realize that the topic is about "Why the hell do people say bad things to nintendo even before they comes out and play???" Well, I don't really know about it...
What I said before is all about "I like sony's". A little mismatched isn't it? But, anyway, I think it depends on each of us, what to like. I've never been in games with nintendo, so I should never comment on any of its issues. I like sony's better mainly because of the number of games from many giant game developers. Well, sorry if anyone loves nintendo get a hard feeling about my previous comments, I didn't mean to

ok ive been following up on the new consoles (not too much on nintendo, my apoliges) and the most interesting thing is, when they estimated the price for the PS3 (xbox is pretty expensive too!) they say its not really consumer, meaning its not gonna be just 200dollars, its more like the PSX (for those who dont know, its a ps2 combined w/ a 150gb or 200gb drive and a dvd burner, its like those tv recorders that plays ps2 games and burns dvds) and those were 800 i think for the 150gb and 1000 for the 200gb ( i think hard drives are now bigger im not sure, this is when it was released i havent checked back) and so they say that (sony) will be working on hopefully having an opertaing system for the PS3, just like the ps2 with linux, so it will be linux and MAC wants a piece of the pie so they are redesigning or designing a OS for the ps3 which u would buy sperate, now even tho this could be just a rumor this could happen... then this thing will replace some (SOME) ppls pcs lol. then again some ppl like pc games only... just saying what i read.

im a lifelong diehard Nintendo fan. Nintendo a KIDS gaming system??
. what makes it a kids gaming system? ive had way more fun dealing out a beating on Smash bros, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, etc than i have any other game. Nintendos own games are some of the most fun ive ever played. the games may be bright, vibrant, and colorful, but that doesnt mean its a kids game. do yourself a favor and get 3 of your friends and a copy of Smash Bros....itll keep you occupied for a REALLY long time .

Hmm well the last 2 nintendo systems have been pretty much rubbish....so why should people expect any different of the next one, is probly what most people are thinking. The past 2 Nintendo systems have had the smallest selection of games to choose from (N64 and GC), the worst graphics (GC and Rev.) and no (ok maybe 1 or 2) mature or adult title. Not to mention not nearly the support of online games that sony and microsoft systems have. Thats why, plain and simple. The sales speak for themselves. The majority of video game players are teen through adult and yes nintendo is geared towards kids, if it wasnt it would have a port of gta and all the other adult action games that are for both xbox and ps2.
Reasons why Xbox 360 and PS3 will outsell the Revolution. Simple, both consoles will have more games from third party support. Both will have more titles geared towards teens and adults which is the much larger base of console and game buyers. Both systems are supporting the HD format, revolution is not. Both systems will have many online games and an online network setup, Revolution...not likely. While microsoft and sony will be using HD and Blu-ray technology, revolution is finally just now using plain dvds. Its not hard to see why Nintendo is being left in the dust. Yes nintendo does have the BEST first party games and probly the largest fan base but those 2 or 3 great games a year arent going to be enough to outsell consoles that are pushing out 3 or 4 great games a month. Not to mention using old tech.

The way I see it, it is all personal preference. Keep in mind that Nintendo got most of us started gaming - at least current teens. It got us started, and then didn't grow up with us. Relate it to the friend who gets held back a grade... you kinda lose track of them over the years. Nintendo, in my opinion, has done a great job at preparing kids for the adult type games. They aren't rubbish... for their target market.
Nintendo games are classic - although I haven't played them in forever, you've got to give them credit where it is due.

I don't hate Nintendo. I have never owned a Nintendo system. I never owned a console until my Xbox was given to me. I have no reason not to like Nintendo but I have never really been interested in their systems.
The same goes for Sony. I don't like Sony overall for many reasons (mainly their insistance on using their proprietary stuff like memory cards). I never wanted a Playstation. I don't like the controller and many Playstation games or games similar to them are available on PC. The PC got me started with games. The Xbox is the only console I've been interested in. There are good games on it that I like playing with the Xbox controller. The PC still dominates my gaming. I like it better than anything. I even have a version of the original Super Mario.

How do you know that the revolution wont have any of the online stuff. How do you know what type of games will be on there. How do you know that it will fail like the game cube. We dont know anything about the revolution besides this
Nintendo has revealed the first tantalising details of its next-generation system, codenamed "Revolution". Unlike Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo has opted to keep quiet on the details, unveiling only a hardware prototype and a few basic facts. The company has not shown any indication of what to expect from the games, and is keeping the (apparently very innovative) controller tightly under wraps as not to show its hand to its competitors too early. "Revolution" is expected to see the light of day during 2006 but Nintendo has yet to commit to date. . Features: WiFi internet capability out of the box and access to online gaming. Access to download a huge catalogue of NES, SNES and N64 games. Backwards compatibility with GameCube titles. DVD movie capability. Games Confirmed: No titles or details have been confirmed, but Nintendo has revealed that it is working on new Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda and Metroid titles. unlike sony & microsoft, nintendo have kept quiet. So you cant compare revolution to ps3 and xbox 360 ; simply because we dont know anything about. Dont assume you knwo what type of games will be on it. And you do you know the xbox 360 and ps3 are more powerfull that the revolution. YOU DONY nintendo havent gone round blabbing at how great their new console is. |

LOL I didnt say the revolution would fail, I simply said it wouldnt outsell the xbox 360 and ps3. Nintendo has already released statements saying that online gaming is not the future. From these statements I would assume that they dont plan on supporting alot of online games. Why wouldnt I compare Revolution to the PS3 and Xbox 360, they are competitors and are releasing next gen systems. Nintendo has already revealed that the system would not be as powerful as the ps3 and xbox360 because they want to keep it cost efficent and want consumers to understand that it is a gaming console and not a living room media center like the xbox 360 and ps3 are trying to be. And yes I can assume what types of games will be on it judging from their past, I dont see them beginning to start making alot of ultra-violent games, you've already stated there will be a new Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Metroid. Nintendo hasnt gone around saying how great their system is because it simply isnt, it will be nowhere near the power or spec as the xbox 360 and ps3 and you shouldnt expect it to be. Dont look for Nintendo to go around advertising how powerful their system is, look for them to be advertising their next gen first party games which are their strong point. All this information has been stated in last months EGM, August issue I think, you should still be able to pick it up. Look past the biases and fanboyism, look at the market and current trend.

ask yourself this...do games really need the T or M rating to be classified as a good game? the only reason i bought Gamecube is because the games i want to play arent available on PC...too bad you cant say the same for Sony and Microsoft consoles. whatever comes out on PS2/3 and Xbox/360 is or will be available for the PC.

Im not saying it has to have a T or M rating to be good at all. But lets face it, thats what sells, thats whats popular. Look at the big popular games of today...Halo, GTA, Half-life 2, Doom 3....these are big games that nintendo will never have....that is why nintendo is not going to do well. If you look at the Game of the Year for the past couple years it will be hard to find a game thats not rated T or M. So what if sonys and microsofts games are also on PC, thats how it should be, saves us consumers from having to buy a dozen different consoles just to play the games we want. Thats another reason nintendo is going by the wayside, no large selection of games because they dont get any of the pc games that are popular and big sellers. I think nintendo will eventually do what sega did and just make games but it wont happen for a long while, the only thing thats saving them is the game boy.

gamecube may not be doing too well...but the fact of the matter is, the best selling console out there is Gameboy Advance SP...it has outsold Xbox and PS2 many times over. http://www.gaming-age.com/cgi-bin/ne...8&nid=15-44.db

It was a memorable and fun things for me during my childhood playing a nintendo(NES).But at that times there isn't any choice of games isn't there?(sure,i know there is some other console but considering a child's budget). The fun lies beyond the game which gives lot of fun.THere for after the debut of PS,the games library was totally anormous. But for some reasons I'm unable to get myself a PS console.Rather I got myself a ps2 console and so it didn't fail to amaze me.I have never regret of buying it.5 years of fun really deserves it.
Nintendo just went wrong right after N64,the concept of many games was"children"rate. There is a voice inside me that shout out loud.."I don't want to be a child!"

Tin, where do you get these numbers from? Your link doesnt show the sales of xbox or ps2. It definatley hasnt outsold xbox and ps2 many times over. Your link also only provides data of GBA and GBA SP sales grouped together, not separate. Last I heard PS2 had sold 22 million alone which is only 5 million less than the GBA/GBA SP and this is not considering xbox's sales. This is not surprising as the GBA/GBA SP runs more than a hundred dollars less than both console systems. Also the GBA SP isnt really a console, its a portable so you really cant compare. Just trying to keep it honest
Debates are fun!
