BF2 performance

Hey guys for some reason im having really bad performance in BF2, if i put everything on high 4xAA 1024x768 (sound on high) i get about 40fps ave, if i put settings all on medium with the same resolution and 4xAA i get about 50fps ave, here are my specs:

500Watt psu
p4 presscot 3.2ghz
XFX 6800Ultra 256mb
Intel 865pe m/b
Audigy 2 ZS
400gig sata 7200rpm hd
2gb ddr400 cl3 ram

I should be getting better perormance with my rig. If i play on an empty server I get about 60fps on highest settings but if its full it can dip to 15fps.

on 3d mark 05 i get 6100 and 03 i get 13,000

thanks in advance

Is EAX enabled? Not sure if it matters if you have a sound card but sometimes I think EAX is poorly implemented into games and causes them to run worse. Also check if sound is running under software or hardware.

If i disable ALL sounds the game runs 10X better.
