Unhappy FarCry no D3D support

FarCry looks bad, and has cronic black areas on the ground. Also, it shows that there is no support for Direct3D under video options where it should be enabled.

I have an NVidia 6800GT card. Patch the game, or update the card driver? Is this a known issue with a fix?

Yeah I had a hell of a time in the beginning with Farcry and the 6800GT.

You need to do both... update drivers and patch the game. The game patch is quite large... (75 Meg) http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=691

Update your card at nvidia http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

My game ran 100% after that and I enjoyed every last minute of it ...good luck!

Cool, I had a feeling I would have to patch the game.
Yep, it's big alright. It's an overnight download for me on my 56k dial-up.
I have the latest driver 77.77xp2k ready to update the card with tonight.

Thanks!

Just as an update, the latest 6800 driver did not fix the game.
The patch is what is really needed here.

The patch fixed everything. Best looking game that I've ever seen!
