How do you choose a proffesion?

well if you are just starting, i think you get one when you go thru the tutorial, if you are trying to get another one, you have to visit a trainer, usually around starports in Game cities, also many player cities have them. like if you wanted to get Novice Scout, for example, i think there is one outside the Coronet Starport on Corellia. You go up to him and talk to him and have to pay a nominal fee(700 credits?). then you need to use the skills to earn experience when you fight or harvest or use tents, ETC...

Sorry anout the lack of clarity but I have just started an account and I am running around Mos Eisley right now and so far the only thing I've been told I need to do is kill ten tuskens. I can't find them. And I read through the manual and it said that I would be able to choose a profesion at the begining and I can't find any where to do that. If this helps I have the Total Experience galaxies game.

Don't even bother paying attention to anything you read in the manual you got with the game. It was out of date within a month of the game coming out. The online version of it is a little bit better, but its still pretty much out of date: http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony...ted%20Chapters

You no longer choose your profession when you create your character.. you start with the five novice professions and then go through the quest-tutorial thing. Just talk to other people in Mos Eisley and they should help you out.

THX for the help guys I think I'm starting to figure it out... maybe. I was talking to people aroung Mos Eisly though and they said I didn't have high enough skills to train. (Ex one of the marksman trainers) How do I increase skill levels? Do I just find little quests to do?

Darth as you kill Tuscan Raiders and such you gain specific XP. Lets say you have a pistol, as you kill animals with your pistol you will gain combat and pistol xp. With your pistol experience high you must find a training and you can learn pistol skills...as your skills get higher you may become the profession of Pistoleer. If you want to be a medic, you have to gain medcial XP which is going around and healing yourself and others ect. It takes some time getting used to, but once you get it down it will be easy...Lemme know if you got any of questions
