erro message during video game

While my son is playing his favorite game "Need For Speed", he occasionally gets kicked out of the game and this message appears on the screen,

OK CANCEL


Can anyone tell me what this means and how I can fix it???

This game used to drive me nuts when I played it and it is hard to find any support for it. You can look through THESE and maybe find some help.
