Do you mean your save games or an exact copy of the game disk?

There are many games for which this is NOT possible. There are also many others for which you will not be able to circumvent the security measures (unless you are extrememly skilled at game hacking), regardless of your legitimate intentions.
Backing up a game disc is not far from pirating a game (in operation), and as such, game developers ignore the fact that the intentions are on opposite sides of the ethical spectrum.

dangerous ground!
if you are scared you could scratch/lose the dvd, make iso backups on your pc, to reinstall after loseing a dvd, use daemon tootls to mount it as a virtual dvd, and reinstall. (not exactly sure how well that'll work though) |

Whether or not this will work depends on the individual games. EDIT: I'm not sure if you caught what I implied... but even with a DVD burner, you may not be able to back up your games. Under normal use and wear and tear, your disks should be fine for a while. Game prices drop every now and then so after about a year or 18 months, your game might go for $20 or less for a new copy. You can also email individual game publishers and see what their charges for a replacement disk may be. If you do decided to email them, don't forget to mention that you have proof of purchase and that you still have the serial key. Last edited by Stuey; 09-28-2005 at 12:29 AM. |

I really wouldn't bother buying backup copies... by the time you need one, you'll prolly be able to buy it online for $20 total off Ebay

Use Alcohol 120%. I haven't found a game that it won't "backup" yet.
