Quick benchmark question
I've been experimenting with different overclocking levels and what not and running benchmarks and keeping tabs. So I've noticed a 13% increase in overall performance, while most numbers go up (or down, whichever is good), PCMark's HDD score is actually going down. What causes the HDD to perform less when the rest of the system is performing better?
Thanks

Perhaps the rest of the system is taking on the extra calculations rather than the cache file you establish on your HDD to provide extra temporary RAM... or perhaps the reverse is true, I don't really know much about benchmarking programs, I see them as a useless waste of time. Would you run your car at top speed for a day against someone elses just to see who's was more efficient, or would you just say it has 4 wheels, and engine and a seat, and meets your requirements, and leave it at that

Not being an OCer, I don't know for sure, but I'd guess that it would be a timing issue and or cyclic error checking retries.

Well I'm not really worried about it, there is a very little drop, so it's not a huge deal - I'm just kinda curious as to why...Anyhow, TR your suggestion sounds logical - perhaps the HDD is going too fast or something...
