I have 28.485 in Super Pi. I wonder if any dual cores have beat this?

Neither. Given the vid card and CPU you run, this is probably an actual score. Your PC could'nt run over half the tests due to your old video card, and the CPU portion of the test brings even dual core CPU's to their knees.

Hmmm, I would expect a better 05 score with your 7900GT. Seems that card should be at least up in the 8000's given the rest of your hardware. It's not one of those cards that is underclocking itself is it?

I hope it's not underclocking itself. I don't do any of that overclocking so what I install is what I get. I added all of my benchmark tests to my sig if that helps. They're all done in default settings.

It has been my understanding that PC Mark scores the entire system and is more cpu and memory dependent. 3D Mark scores the video. A high performance vid card wouldn't affect the PC Mark score that much but it would increase the 3D Mark score. At least that's what I've been lead to believe.

Duh. Reading is fundamental. Next time I'll try to read for more detail. You are correct PR, my bad. I was "seeing" 3DMark05 while I was READING PCMark05.

just ran 3dmark06 without changing any system settings got
3130

Athlon XP 3000+ 400MHz FSB
Asus A7N8X-E
1.25GB PC3200 RAM
GeForce 7800GS 256MB AGPx8
80GB SATA 7200rpm 8MB cache hdd

nothing overclocked, will mess with some video settings and try again see if I can get it a little higher,

not to bad for a non 64bit AMD cpu and an AGP video card

My 7900GTX will eventually get to me, so I can compare it to my current 7800 GTX KO.

wow. thats nice. doesnt the x850 pro and xt version share the same core, except that xt runs on 16 pipes while the pro runs on 12. i wonder if ur still using stock cooling. cause u got ur core up to 579 and my cores at 530 and im using a aftermark market cooling part. do u think software prevents it from coming and higher or just the hardware itself. maybe thats y i get so little performance in bf2

Question Not sure what they mean, but here they are!

Help out a wana-be. I used 3dmark05 and Aquamark3 for these numbers, is it that, the higher the number the better? This is right out of the box, no OC'ing

3dmark05: 8827
Aquamark3: 87.583 fps
SuperPi 1m: 36sec

Yes, higher is better on the first two. Anything dealing with time (like SuperPi), less time is better.

3DMark05: 5636
AquaMark3: 63,877

For tests I down clocked my CPU to 3.2GHz instead of 3.4GHz. Wanted it to be a little more stable for tests.
