Running Super Pi on my new computer I got 12 seconds but there was no decimal results...strange.

Just ran 3Dmark06 and got 20685. This is with an i7-860 overclocked to 3.374 GHz and two Nvidia 8800 GTS 512's in SLI. My new CPU added to the score.

With a little more overclocking I could probably beat your score Jerome. Looks like we have the same motherboard. I cheated and used the automatic overclocking...time to get serious and do some manual overclocking.
I have the same cpu as you but clocked to 3.8GHZ and my superpi at 1 million is 10.9 sec

I just ran superPI for the first time, I have my 875k clocked to 3.86Ghz at the moment.

1M mark in 10.61 seconds

When I take mine out of the wrapper and assemble, you already know it wins.

I just ran 3D Mark Vantage 1.1.0.0 with the rig in my signature. My score was 33214.

The CPU was running at 4.4GHz with the graphics cards at their factory speeds.

My 3DMark06 score is 31076.

My previous 3DMark06 score was 22292. Since then I have replaced my motherboard with one that has 16 graphics lanes per PCIe slot. Before I had 8. The number of graphics lanes available per slot is where my computer was bottlenecking.

I'm going to try reaching 5 Ghz with the CPU and set the card to its other BIOS which overclocks it and then see what scores I get.

Just thought you guys might be curious what a high end rig scores.

Unknown to me at the time, Crossfire was not working so the last score of 33214 was from one graphics card.

New score, P44736 3DMarks with the CPU at 4.7 GHz and stable as tested by Prime95. Both cards BIOS switches were set to overclock. Both cards fans set manually to 100%. The maximum CPU temp was 65C during the benchmark.

Finally finished getting all the parts upgraded on my computer and ran some benches today. Processor is running at 4.2GHz (can't push it anymore without upping voltages and don't want to get my temps above 60C).
3D Mark 06: 29912
3D Mark Vantage: P30840
3D Mark 11: P8491
Super PI (1M): 8.95s

Maximum CPU temperature was 60C, my original HD6870 is mildly overclocked to match the factory overclock of my new HIS HD6870 IceQ X Turbo.

Have you tried 3DMark11? I'd assume it'd scale better with your graphics as it's more demanding, I've noticed older versions of 3DMark don't scale that well past a certain point.

Thanks, I will give it a try.

It looks like you did well with a 6870. How did you rank with those with near equivalent hardware? My ranking was right in the middle of the curve. I would like to be able to break 50,000 but I have no idea what else I can try other than liquid nitrogen and liquid cooled cards. My CPU air cooler seems to rank better than most liquid coolers.

Graphics card scaling is not proportional to cost. It is nowhere near. My guess is my scores are being held back by the number of graphics lanes. The Revolution board does not have 2 x 16 true graphics lanes. No board does until PCIe3 is available with Ivy Bridge. I guess they will become available at the same time?...Q2 of 2012 is what I read somewhere. It will be interesting to see how many true graphics lanes are available then.

My ranking with the HD6870s was the next bar past the middle of the pack, probably because I have slightly overclocked cards. I could probably increase my score a little by overclocking my CPU more (or my video cards for that matter), but I have a "silent case" with sound-dampening foam on the sides and few areas where air can flow through, so I can't really handle bigger temperatures than I have now and remain at a comfortable level (CPU goes to 59-60C during 1Hr of Prime 95 with 8 threads) and Video Cards stay in the low 70Cs.

I think Intel made the Sandy Bridge (LGA1155) socket have reduced PCIe lanes (only 16 from what i've read) to make it less viable for High End multi-gpu configurations so that their X58 platform (LGA 1366) would still be a viable choice, given that most Sandy Bridge processors are on par or above LGA 1366 processors for lower price.

I think with the new X79 platform, they will have true 2 x 16 lanes (perhaps even PCIe 3.0, though I've read that initially it may only be PCIe 2.0), so that should work out quite well for High-End multi-gpu configurations.

From what I've read my HD6870s pretty much fully use 8x 2.0 lanes and are a little bottlenecked by it (saw some benchmarks where moving from 8x to 16x increased performance by a few percent), so I'd imagine the cards you have right now would run a fair bit faster if they had more bandwidth available.

Thank you. Didn't wanna risk getting a virus by getting a fake program and not realizing it.
