Over the years, I've come to trust IGN's rating as we are usually on the same page and agree with the ratings. IGN gave Quake 4 an 8.2 so I will be skipping it. I'd like to hear what others say about it though.

if i were to get one of the 2, i'd get f.e.a.r.
alot of websites are comparing quake 4 to doom 3....didnt really innovate much, just the same old game just rehashed. i think pc gamer did also....

I will probably get F.E.A.R. I have never really played Quake.

Well I got FEAR and WOW! It's a great game. I'm a big FPS fan and FEAR is one of the best I have played. The AI is incredible, this is the AI I was expecting with Half Life 2.
A+ from me. I'll try out Quake 4. |

I am going to wait for more reviews to come in. If either are filled with bugs then I will wait for the patches. No sense in buying a game that has all sorts of problems. Both look like great games though!

There's a Q4 review here....
http://www.itreviews.co.uk/games/g204.htm Most of the reviews coming out seem to agree that it's not great, rather too much like Doom 3, even got the torch etc |

Didnt play Q4 yet but FEAR was great despite the somehwat short length. The AI, the weapons (especially the proximity mines) and the story were all top notch imo.
