I just read in this page
http://gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=12554 that the PS3 may not be fully backwards compatible, microsoft is supposed to put a list of the games to be compatible for the xbox360 in a few weeks on their site. Thanks for the reply. |

From what ive read, none of the xbox or ps2 controllers and memory cards will work on the next generation of systems, games yes, peripherals no. PS3 is supposedly completely backward compatible with ps2 and ps1 games and xbox360 is mostly backward compatible with xbox games. Microsoft said xbox360 will be compatible with the most popular xbox games and in order to have the backward compatibility you must by the xbox360 that comes with the 20gig Harddrive. No harddrive, no backward compatibility.
In fact neither system has controller ports on it, since both use wireless controllers. The xbox360 does have 2 frontside usb ports which a usb controller can be plugged in to. The xbox360 core system will come with a wired controller instead of a wireless controller. One thing that is amusing is the xbox360s support of the psp. I think its pretty shocking that the xbox360 is natively compatible with the sony psp and nothing has been mentioned of ps3 support for it. Microsoft helping sony sell psp's? Sony helping Microsoft sell 360s.......?

I hope the ps3 curls up and dies.
GO nintendo revolution. Nintendo have patented a hard drive system for the nintendo revolurion. So it looks like the revolution has a built in hard drive. The revolutions graphics are identical to the xbox 360's according to nintendo. Eighet way i am buying a revolution. |

Nah the revolution looks to be way underpowered compared to the 360 and ps3 looking at specs. Nintendo is stressing inovative gameplay instead of graphics. Have you seen the revolutions new controller? Yuck, looks like a tv remote that you gotta move around cuz its tilt sensative. Id say of the 3 systems it definatley looks like nintendo would be the first to "curl up and die". Its by far the least popular home console and sales of its last 2 systems were definatley lagging well being microsoft and sony. I hope nintendo can pull themselves together before its too late, its a shame what happened to sega, lots of good memorys.

Have you seen thr revolution specs. Wait no one has becauses they havent told anyone yet. And it was that iwata person who said that it will be hard to tell graphics between the 360 and the revolution. They designed the controll to look like a tv remote because everyone finds it easy enough to use a tv remote, so if the console controll looks like a tv remote then they know how to use it. Besided it looks quite good. Instead of a pad thing on somegames all you do is move the coltroller to move the person on screen.
Where did you see your version of the revolution specs. Nintendo havent said what they are yet, at least the revolution will be the only resonable price console. It will be around £200. I dred to think how much the ps3 will be. probably abour £350 knowing sony, sony are just after your money. Ninytendo and sony aim thier consoles at different markets. The 'tv remote' is designed to be easy to use. people are going to hate it because no one has ever seen a controller like it. Too many people decide thier consoles arrording to a 'sheet of number'. Console gaming is about how much you enjoy the game, not how poerfull the console is. The gamecube is the least powerful console, yet I enjoy playing it. Isnt that what matters, now a war over which company's is more powerfull. Decide on gameplay not specs. |

For the record, the least powerful of the current consoles is the PS2, but it has a greater variety of games. I right now own the gamecube and XBOX, but that's because the games I play are on them and of course the PC. I have owned the PS2 two times and the dreamcast, only liked a a few of the PS2 games on it and traded it the two times. We should buy the consoles because of the games we like are on them, not because we are told to. I personally will keep playing the XBOX and gamecube as long the games keep coming for them, only then I will buy a next gen console.

LOL you began arguing over graphic power not I. I am just trying to educate your biasness. Nintendo was quoted in EGM saying that the graphics would not be comparable to that of the 360 and ps3 in order to keep the price down. Last I seen "my version of the specs" were leaked, here you go:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/Ninte...ecs-9218.shtml. From these specs I would say, yes the graphics of the first generation of games are gonna be comparable, but 3rd and 4th generation games no way, not once they start taking advantage of the multiple threads the 360 and ps3 can handle. If they plan on releasing it for $200 bucks like they are saying, I dont see how it could have comparable not just in terms of graphics but other features as well. Since nintendo is gonna be the last to release their console you never know, they could make all kinds of changes. They are also undecided on HDtv support and no harddrive, hopefully they will support HDtv, it would give me a good excuse to buy one The whole tv controller thing, IMO extremely lame, yea tv control for flippin channels not for playin games, its gonna be like playing a game on a cell phone number pad and for it to have a analog stick there is a little analog stick just by itself that you hold in your other hand and connects to the remote by a cord, yuk. Im gonna guess it'll be popular when it first comes out just due to the novelty of it like the ds's dual screens and touch pad. I dont know maybe Im just to old school and am rejecting change, we'll see. I dont see why your arguing about the graphics anyway, its the games that make the system. Dreamcast proved that or didnt prove it lol. PS3 and the 360 will of course have a larger selection of games. Nintendo will of course have its few games but quality franchises, much like sega had. I am hoping for a lot more cross-platform games though for nintendo, help them get a little more audience. You can really only wait and see but dont be blinded by bias. The Revolution has been confirmed completely backward compatible with Gamecube games which is great news and a first for nintendo. Oh BTW every company is after your money

Where did you see they were fake at? All I read was unconfirmed. I thought those specs seemed a little high for the revolution anyway, I doubt it will even be that powerful and shouldnt you be looking forward to new games coming out for a new console lol
![]() If you have an xbox I can tell you how to put mario kart 64 on it

The xbox always did have a hard drive. There are two versions of the 360, the cheap one comes with wired controller and no hard drie, the £80 more one comes with wireless controller and a hard drive
finally someone who doesnt say that the revolution will suck. |
