BF1942 issues

hey,

so... i reinstalled 1942 after a haitus... and it ran fine before the patches, but to play online i had to install the patches...

after i did so: when the game starts up, my monitor goes black with the message "sync over range" and then stays black. i can still hear the music, just no picture. I can get the screen to go back on if i hit ctl+alt+del and then 't' so the task manager will come up and the desktop appears. my monitor is a 17" view era lcd i got recently, it doesnt have very high limits, but its worked for everything up to this point.

i was just wondering if i could set the initial resolution/framerate for the game so i can play it!

TIA

Well fellow Hoosier, your in luck. I found the Video.con file used to store the default settings here: BF1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Default

Open up the Video.con file in wordpad, notepad, or any plain text editor, and find this line:
game.setGameDisplayMode 1280 960 32 60

You should be able to change tht to where you need to go. Like
game.setGameDisplayMode 1024 768 32 60 if you have a 1024x768 monitor.

Also go up one folder and you might find this:
BF1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Custom

Change it in there too. You might have choose to keep your settings when you reinstalled.
