Why does my computer do poorly compared to others?
ok, if you look at my sig you can see my stats. i have run 3DMark03 several times now, once with my older graphics drivers and 2 or 3 with the new ones. there difference is minimal 2-3%. for some reason though when i compare to a computer of the EXACT SAME stats my computer performs approx. 50% overall 84% of the other CPU. i have optimized my computer, i alwasy make sure only programs i want are running in the back, such as asus probe, ZA, anitvirus. i cannt figure out why my computer does so poorly.

What scores are you getting? and what sites or other places are you comparing too?

Do spyware/virus scans and kill those programs that you want running - those can take up precious resources.

Do the games you play run fine? That's all I would worry about. Benchmarks don't play games. My PC doesn't do too well in benchmarks but it still plays games fine.

An what are the AA and AF you are using? I turn mine off and my score goes up my 900-1000 marks.

3DMark03:
*note: for some reason my 6800 GT is registered as a 6800 Ultra. perhaps that is causing the problem? i have everything set top defaults, as is everyone else. my score - 11258 comparison of my rig versus the best rating. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=4315023 lower rating. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=4370748 |

maybe because the 19000 point you linked is to 6800Ultra SLi scores? lol. My 6800GT scored around 12k when I had it too. Your scores are normal.
